How Lupus Caused the Scars on Seal's Face

The forms DLE takes

Depending on the affected areas and the severity of the of the condition, DLE is classified as either Localized DLE, Generalized DLE, or Childhood DLE. The first type affects the skin above the neck, specifically the cheeks, lips, bridge of nose, scalp, etc. Seal’s condition is a localized DLE. Generalized DLE, on the other hand, creates more severed lesions from the areas of the thorax to the neck and head. It’s a more serious condition than Localized DLE but it is less common. The last type, Childhood DLE is common among male children. Patients are not as sensitive to the sunlight, but they are more prone to Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE), which affects not only the skin but also the internal organs of the body.
