Sometimes the drug can cause severe reactions in the mouth and skin. Symptoms may be things like painful sores, ulcers, blisters in the mouth or skin, peeling skin, rashes, or pustules. Most of these symptoms can be helped with certain over the counter medications, but doctors may be able to refer patients to a dermatologist if needed.
