How to Deal with Family and Friends Who Don't Understand Fibromyalgia

Ask for help

Ask for help

If you had a broken leg, you would have no qualms with someone offering to help you out so you don’t have to climb up and down the stairs. Just because your illness isn’t visible doesn’t mean people won’t help you. Your family and friends love you and want to help. It is understandable if you do not want to overwork them, so try not to ask the same people over and over again. If you really do not feel comfortable asking them for help, maybe you can ask them to help you find a care aid to help you when you are not feeling well.
