Is There a Link Between Ovarian and Testicular Cancer?

They have a specific gene mutation in common

Another study, published in the New England Journal of Medicine, suggests that rare types of ovarian, testicular, and uterine cancer have a specific gene mutation, named DICER, in common. The report indicates that DICER triggers the onset of certain types of cancer and by sequencing cancerous genes, patients can be treated based on their existing genetic mutations, as opposed to the tissues from which they arise. In turn, better management of cancer may be evident.
