Carrie Fisher is not the only celebrity to die from sleep apnea complications
Carrie Fisher was not the only celebrity to have sleep apnea complications. Sudden cardiac death is also linked to sleep apnea issues for James Gandolfini, John Candy, Jerry Garcia, President Taft and Reggie White. There is even some questions that Supreme Court Justice Anton Scalia may have died because he failed to turn on his CPAP machine.
Others who have sleep apnea, but who take care of this problem are Rosie O’Donnell and Roseanne Barr, Texas governor Rick Perry, Shaquille O’Neal, Brett Favre and Regis Philbin, William Shatner, Anne Rice, Larry the Cable Guy, Randy Jackson, and Quincy Jones. These are just a few of the celebrities who are not embarrassed to use their CPAP machines to save their own lives.
A CPAP machine isn’t sexy or even comfortable at first use. If you find that you cannot get your CPAP to work for you, there are many options. You might have to do some trial and errors before finding the one that is best for you. Try wearing the CPAP mask for short periods until you get used to it. Use a nasal saline spray before bed to ease your dry, stuffy nose, and if you feel claustrophobic, talk to your CPAP supplier for a more comfortable option.
