Jerry Lewis gained the attention when he paired up with the singer Dean Martin. The duo was known as Martin and Lewis and swept the nation with their acts. Due to their acquired fame, the duo landed their own show The Martin and Lewis Show in the NBC Red Network. From then on, the duo had a lot of shows and garnered a lot of fans. Unfortunately, they decided to split in 1956 due to some personal reasons.

Both gentlemen had good solo careers. Neither stained their solo careers by bad-mouthing one another. Lewis’ solo career soared during his acts on What’s My Line?  from 1956 to 1965. He then had appearances in various movies, television shows, and radio shows. Lewis even had his own comics by DC Comics titled The Adventures of Jerry Lewis that ran from 1957 to 1971.
