What is MDA?

The Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) was founded in 1950 by Paul Cohen who was a leading business man who lived his life with muscular dystrophy. He gathered a lot of colleagues who had connections with famous people and decided to raise funds in order to research more on the diseases such as seeking medications, treatments, and possible cure. MDA up to this date, continues to fight neuromuscular diseases with the help of celebrities (the likes of Jerry Lewis, and donations all over the world).

MDA aspires to find the cure by doubling their research investment in drug development and clinical trials in order to bring more treatments to individuals and families. MDA also aspires to care by providing unending support and care to more than 50,000 families. Lastly, MDA aspires to be the champion by funding 20,000 kids at MDA Summer Camp at no cost to families as the organization tries to expand to families and youths.
