Loss of Two Children Motivates Family to Spread Cystic Fibrosis Awareness

The tree that serves as a memorial to the girls' lives

Hoping to honor the young girls’ vibrancy, Butch and Phyllis Cutlip - neighbors of their grandmother Loretta - asked for permission to have a tree planted for them. It seemed fitting, seeing as how it was the first place that the Cutlips had seen the two girls – playing in a tree. “It’s so much better than flowers. I thought it was a terrific idea to plant it in the park because this is where Jamie and I would have lunch,” said Loretta.
