Make sure to practice mindful meditation
Part of accepting the disease and mortality will be to practice mindfulness. One way to do this is by doing what your doctors say, even when it sounds negative, and accepting it.
Another way is to begin the practice of mindful meditation. In a nutshell, mindful meditation involves directing the mind to the present, looking at everything in your life, and accepting it by learning how to live with it and finding ways to appreciate it. It’s not about fighting against the effects of the disease or denying its existence.
For lupus patients, mindful meditation can help reduce the chronic pain that is associated with the disease.
