Lymphoma: Organizations and Events That Make a Difference

Girl and Boy of the Year

Girl and Boy of the Year

One of the many awards and recognitions that the LLS society holds are the “Girl and Boy of the Year” awards. These awards are the motivators behind the “Man and Woman of the Year,” and serve to drive those candidates to raise the most funds. The girl and boy awards are given to children who have fought lymphoma or leukemia, the most recent of which is Jaden Lowery and Katie Thomson. Jaden is currently undergoing treatment for B Cell Lymphoma which requires monthly doctor’s visits, and blood draws. Katie was diagnosed at age 10 with High-Risk B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She is currently regaining her strength after a bone marrow transplant but is recovering steadily.
