Funding and research have transformed the healthcare industry and saved lives. Without nonprofit organizations, cutting edge research and treatments would have never been developed. This is evident in the statistics over time and the astounding improvements in mortality and survival rates over time. It is no wonder why so many organizations have been founded on support of a cure.

Some statistics on lymphoma show a substantial increase in survival rates over the decades. In 1963, there was a 40 percent survival rate for lymphoma sufferers; now, that survival rate is almost 90 percent. In fact, for individuals who were diagnosed at less than 45 years of age, the 5-year survival rate is 94.3 percent.
