Lymphoma Survivor Transforms Wedding into Research Fundraiser

Working with the Lymphoma Research Foundation

Working with the Lymphoma Research Foundation

The couple eventually got into contact with Michael Werner, the chairman of the Lymphoma Research Foundation, and worked with him to set up their reception as a fundraiser benefitting the organization. Instead of asking for wedding gifts, the couple asked wedding guests to donate to the foundation instead. They also asked the vendors to do the same, who even offered to take part of their services cost to put towards the organization. Originally the couple had hoped to raise around $40,000. When all was said and done, the couple nearly doubled their goal and raised $78,984. But even that was not enough for the couple. They currently plan to hold another reception in Chicago for family members unable to attend the first one, and increased their goal to raising $100,000 for the cause.
