Waking up from a deep sleep can cause drowsiness and feeling unrested all day. The application monitors sleep patterns that help patients wake up at the lightest stage of sleep. This is the stage where it is easiest to wake feeling rested. The app works by placing a smartphone on a specific area of the bed. It uses motion detection to calculate graphs of sleep patterns while a person sleeps. Using what they call a “wake phase” of 30 minutes, sleep cycle detects movement and wakes a person lightly over time.
