Model Citizen: Cystic Fibrosis Patient Uses Instagram to Inspire Others

Sophie's goals

Despite the expectations that cystic fibrosis patients can't be particularly fit, Sophie is currently a personal trainer in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, on top of being a fitness model. At only 26 (years after doctors placed her life expectancy), she has already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and completed the Race to the Stones Challenge, a 100km race.

Sophie is also involved in a number of initiatives to raise awareness and funding for cystic fibrosis. She is an ambassador for Jeans for Genes, a national fund-raiser to raise money for children and their families who suffer from genetic disorders, such as cystic fibrosis. Sophie was also the center point of a celebrity-packed music video "Breathe- Life Unlimited" meant to bring awareness to cystic fibrosis by recording the breaths of hundreds of sufferers and celebrities.

Sophie wants to empower others, whether they have cystic fibrosis or not, to live their best possible life through wellness, lifestyle, and fitness. She is committed to sharing her journey in its entirety, including her struggles, with her followers. However, even through these hardships, she maintains a positive attitude that she hopes others will follow. While her story in itself is a success, her goal is for others to be able to attain it as well.
