Despite the amount of research around the disease, there is still no cure
Despite years of research, there is still a lot of unknown information about the disease, including its cause. Some researchers believe that Parkinson's develops from genetic factors, while others believe environmental factors.
There is no cure for Parkinson’s. Those who develop the disorder undergo various treatment options to improve the symptoms. However, as the disease progresses many of the initial medications used for treatments become less effective and may produce complications for patients. Some patients have seen improvement with diet and rehabilitation and others have undergone brain surgery to help reduce the effects of the disease on their motor system.
