Parkinson's Disease: The Search for a Cure in Space
The Michael J. Fox Foundation Research targeting LRRK2
In an effort to streamline and develop a cure around the gene, the Michael J. Fox Foundation is funding an LRRK2 Consortium. This collaborative network consists of more than 30 investigative teams. They are tasked to test a critical hypothesis about both normal and pathological LRRK2. The foundation aims to understand the findings of various investigative teams and aid the researchers in understanding the LRRK2 function and biological structure, enabling the possibility of creating a cure for Parkinson’s disease.
