Positive Airway Pressure Therapy Improves Sleep Apnea Patients' Quality of Life

CPAP vs. APAP

A study has also been conducted to compare the improvement in the quality of life between patients who received CPAP and those who received Auto-Titrating Positive Airway Pressure or APAP for 3 months. Just like the previous study mentioned, the patients were randomized into the CPAP or APAP group. They also completed the SF-36 Survey before and after receiving the treatment. The results of the study show that the APAP group has a lower mean optimal pressure than the CPAP group. On the other hand, both groups have shown improvement in terms of vitality and their general health.
