Symptoms of Fibromyalgia
The most characteristic symptom of FM is constant pain that isn’t specific to a certain region of the body. In fact, this pain can be felt anywhere. Besides that, an unusual painful response to tactile pressure is also a key symptom and very important in the diagnosis of FM. Disturbing chronic pain exhausts those affected, with most constantly suffering from fatigue. Those affected by FM also might experience prolonged muscle spasms (or cramps), weakness in the legs and arms, and problems with digestion.
Exhausted during day, patients with FM also suffer from sleep disorders, which may lead to mental health issues, such as depression, anxiety, or problems with memory and concentration.
