Pro Athlete Jake Diekman Recovers From Ulcerative Colitis Surgeries

Jake Diekman: A delayed start

A delayed start

Diekman’s rehab is among the most unique in Major League Baseball. His illness took him out of the game starting October of 2016. The Texas Rangers relief pitcher was scheduled to return to the team on August 11, 2017, after being out for over 10 months. Unfortunately, he discovered that his much-anticipated return was also delayed just prior to the scheduled date. Devastated when he heard this, he called Amanda for support. She immediately flew out to him from Minneapolis to New York to offer her support.

The pressure was on for Diekman’s first pitch back since his surgeries.
