New gel treatment
Researchers are constantly coming up with experimental treatments for patients who are unable to benefit from traditional treatments for one reason or another. One new treatment is particularly exciting, and it is all contained in a little gel. This small gel makes a large impact however, and could potentially be used to slow the progression of RA and lessen the severity of patient's symptoms. It essentially works by targeting excess nitric oxide, which causes inflammation of the joints and RA development. Typical RA treatments focus on anti-inflammation and pain-relieving drugs, but these are merely symptoms caused by the excess nitric oxide (NO) itself.
