The Lupus Research Alliance has already funded over $173 million novel lupus research as of 2017. It offers a comprehensive grant program for scientists to confidently and conveniently pursue new approaches and ideas to improve treatment and eventually find a cure. Some of the significant discoveries made with the help of the organization include the identification of specific genes that could predispose a person with lupus and the use of the ImmunoChip to study hundreds of these genes among a large number of participants.
