Laughter and Humor Help

Laughter and humor are vital in the life of an Alzheimer’s patient. There is a study that debates the importance of laughter and humor as a complement to alternative intervention and treatment of the disease. The study showed that laughter and smiling are both related to good feelings in patients. Also, laughing can be used as a means to relieve inner tension. This can be also therapeutic in treating patients who have dementia.

While it can’t be really said that laughing or comedy is a way to cope with the dreaded disease, it definitely does not hurt. It helps the patient feel good. It also has some good physical benefits such as tension relief and the production of 'happy hormones."
