Day time napping changes your sleep cycle and you may not feel sleepy at night thus preventing you from falling asleep.  Pick a time you go to bed and a wake up time and be consistent with it. This way your body will get used to a circadian rhythm and will help you fall asleep and wake up easily. Napping can interrupt that rhythm.
