Hopefully, we are one step closer to curing cystic fibrosis. If a way to eradicate the disease isn't possible, the next best thing would be to prevent the disease from ever progressing. If we can harness the genetic benefit of these 5, special individuals, we could potentially be able to save the lives of thousands of children all over the world who suffer from cystic fibrosis.
