Different triggers for different people
For Racheli, the guilt of surviving is not always present on a day to day basis. However, when the guilt does present itself, for Racheli it is usually triggered by the death of another individual who passed away from cancer. For other people, survivor's guilt can be triggered by seeing someone with the same condition struggling a lot more than that person is. Even simply feeling good about yourself while being a cancer survivor can bring on feelings of guilt and shame.
