Those closest to Kaila turned to fundraising to help them out
Struggling to pay their bills, Kaila ended up going back to work as a legal secretary and their friend, Terry, set up a fundraiser to help provide the couple with financial support. “I have never in my life witnessed such raw courage and determination. He is absolutely determined to win this fight,” wrote Terry, on the fundraising page in reference to Matt’s battle with CF. Matt even reached out to the public for support and wrote an update on his Facebook page – “I’m planning on proving the doctors wrong and getting better but to do that I’ll need 24-7 support. If anyone can help in any way, we would be forever grateful.” Less than 16 weeks after it was started, the fundraiser helped raise over $43,000 dollars.
