Requirements for the substitute bus driver training course include the following:

  • Being at least 21 years of age
  • Having a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Having an acceptable driving record
  • Undergoing a criminal background check and having a clean record
  • Undergoing a pre-employment drug screen and passing the test
  • Undergoing a CDL physical examination and being in good health

Upon completion of all of the requirements, the applicant should bring their paperwork to the Transportation Department in order to be certified as a Substitute Bus Driver.
