Team Makes Dream Come True for Teammate with Muscular Dystrophy

However, the PIAA had to stop the coach's plan to let him run

While the honors and recognition took place, the celebration was cut short by Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) officials, and Harris was prevented from stepping into the field and playing as a pinch runner. The PIAA had to shoot down Coach Brayford’s plan to honor his longtime supporter and player, on the grounds of physical inability. The association also cited safety concerns due to bringing unauthorized equipment into the field. In other words, they were concerned about Harris' wheelchair, which he depended on to move around.
