And she made sure to have fun with the whole process!
White had so much fun trying on many different dresses in many different colors. “I think what made it extra special shopping for a prom dress was knowing that it was out of the kindness of somebody’s heart, that it was donated to me,” she said. She picked out a dusty pink dress to wear to her prom and on the anticipated day, she stated that she felt absolutely beautiful. “I love seeing everything put together. The dress is fantastic. The wig— they did a fantastic job on it, and I just feel like a princess,” she said.
After taking prom photos at a friend’s house, White met up with Smith at Lincoln Square in Gettysburg. “Look at your hair, Ashley!” said White, in reference to her wig. Smith recalled the strange sensation when she first received the wig in the mail. “Just to hold my hair, oh my God, it was crazy. It was the weirdest feeling ever, but it’s so cool, and she looks so good, and I’m just really glad that it turned out to look as natural as it does,” she said.
