The Link Between Nephritis and Lupus

Understanding Lupus Nephritis

Considering that end-stage renal disease can be life-threatening, it is important that the condition is diagnosed as early as possible. But in practice, it is never easy to diagnose kidney disease in its early stages. Reason for this being simple, symptoms of kidney disease do not occur until most of its functional cells have been damaged. In some people, symptoms may only appear when up to 90% of kidneys have been damaged. Thus, knowing the symptoms of kidney disease is important, but there is not a reliable way to diagnose the problem on time. Early diagnosis of kidney disease is only possible through laboratory analysis, though even that remains a challenge for modern medical science.
