The Link Between Psoriasis and Malignant Lymphoma Risk

This has been shown in previous studies as well

While the findings in this study have made an impact in the understanding of the connections, they have been shown in previous studies as well. Previously, another large population-based study was able to show an 11 fold increase in the risk of T-cell lymphoma in severe psoriasis by utilizing a general practice research database. In Denmark, a study found a 15 fold increase for the risk of the most common form of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, called mycosis fungoides, in psoriasis patients who had been discharged from the hospital. While other studies have taken place, they have often varied in their sample size, design, population, and outcome. Some did not specify the relative risk of various forms of lymphoma.
