These Rescue Dogs Are Trained to Find Children with Autism
Recently, these dogs became more familiar with children who have autism
In April of 2018, team members from the SCSARDA participated in a training event at Springbrook Autism Behavioral Health in Greenville, which is an autism treatment facility dedicated to providing exceptional services and high-quality care to children with autism and their families. They took part in several search and rescue exercises to become familiar with children who have the condition. The staff members at Springbrook, the patients, and their families also took part in mocking searches and interacting with the dogs during the event, which was held in honor of Autism Awareness Month.
