RA is not the only factor in hearing impairment. Smoking or drinking alcohol seem to be tied together to increase the risk of someone with RA losing their hearing.
So if you find yourself asking people to speak up more often or your family reports having trouble speaking clearly to you, you should talk this over with your doctor.
