US Military Personnel Are More At Risk for Sleep Disorders

Veterans are more at risk for sleep disorders

Sleep disorders don’t immediately stop when soldiers come home. Sleep disturbances are the most common symptoms of military personnel who return from deployment. In a USA Today article, the author wrote that veterans’ insurance claims for sleep apnea are soaring. Claims for sleep apnea have risen nearly 150% since 2009. The numbers are attributed to returning veterans of the Gulf War or the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, and plus a greater awareness of what sleep apnea is.
