University of Southern California Announces Hodgkin's Lymphoma Breakthrough

While finding a novel treatment is always seen as the most important aspect of a study, as it is immediately tangible and easily depicts progress, the underlying success of Shih's study is not only the potential of the inhibitor - but what scientists have now learned about MAO-A's interaction with Hodgkin's lymphoma. This new wealth of knowledge that the researchers have tapped into offer insights into the biology of lymphoma subtypes, both their similarities and differences on a very basic scientific level. By using this information to more accurately diagnose patients experiencing signs of lymphoma, experts will have an easier time initially recognizing the exact subtype - making it easier to treat at a high and effective level.
