Want to Become a Lupus Advocate? Here’s How.

Here's how you can spread awareness

If you are unable to work with the government for one reason or another, the advocate can still help to raise awareness on lupus in their own way. Raising awareness is essential to improve the early detection, prognosis, and treatment of this rare and misunderstood condition. You can opt to participate in awareness campaigns held by local support groups or organizations, or even work to drive celebrity engagement via social media. There have been several campaigns, both local and national, that have contributed towards increasing lupus awareness, such as the ‘Be Fierce. Take Control’ program, the ‘May is Lupus Awareness Month’ initiative, ‘Put on Purple’, and ‘World Lupus Day’.
