Communication is key
One of the symptoms of fibromyalgia is the aversion to touch and low sex drives, which can be very frustrating for both you and your loved one. This is why communication is important, talk about what will work and what won’t. Intimacy is an important factor in any relationship, and fibromyalgia should not stop this intimacy. But as with any other illnesses, you might need a little more patience with your partner and what they need.
Communication also helps especially with the guilt and depression your partner may be experiencing, especially when they feel they aren't clear about their needs. Talking and making them feel that somebody is there for them will be crucial. Encourage them to tell you what they feel and how they feel, which may be physical or emotional pain. Be open to them as well, tell them your thoughts and feelings. Like any relationship, miscommunication and neglect will make things turn sour.
