The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Clinical Trial Community

To tackle this problem, the Foundation developed a Clinical Trial Community designed to increase awareness of ongoing trials, especially those seeking participants. By speeding up the process of recruitment, the trials themselves can move forward on a more consistent basis, ultimately leading to a wider variety of treatment options for people suffering from IBD.

The Clinical Trial Community is an excellent initiative that’s sure to have a positive impact on those who suffer from IBD. With an increased awareness of available clinical trials, the medical community is improving treatment options, and getting closer to one day hopefully finding a cure.

In the meantime, there’s other ways to manage IBD symptoms. A lot of these are diet related, such as eating small meals and cutting down on caffeine and alcohol. However, the IBD experience can greatly vary from one person to the next, and even for the same person over time. Keep track of your symptoms so that you can adjust your actions accordingly.
