A Life With Celiac Disease and What It Means for Patients

Eating Out with Celiac Disease

Going out to dinner with friends will mean a call ahead to a restaurant or a search on a website of the restaurant to ensure that they have gluten free options available as not many independent restaurants that have gluten free menus are few and far between unless you live in a major metropolis. The upside to that though is many chain restaurants have in the past few years included gluten free menus to their standard fare. For regular day to day food needs celiacs may have to take food along with them for lunch at school or work or simply just in a back so that if hunger attacks at the time where they should be at home for dinner, something is available. This can be anything from snacks like nuts and fruit to gluten free chips and crackers.
