This coming fall, Mattero will have the chance to go back to school at the College of Saint Elizabeth for a two-year combined Master’s degree in nutrition/dietetic. Upon graduating the program, she isn’t quite sure where she will go, but the interest and passion is stronger than ever.

“I’m now going back to school for my Masters and then an internship with a clinical rotation. Being at this camp, I really am interested in doing more PEDs (pediatrics). Then possibly going on to become a CDE, Certified Diabetes Educator, which is very needed, especially in places like this camp but also in hospitals,” said Mattero.

“With the internship, you actually go and do different rotations. I think you go to a dialysis center, all sorts of different things. I’m just the type of person who likes to get involved and do things. So it’s cool.”
