Could a Simple Blood Test Diagnose Skin and Blood Cancers?

There is some skepticism, but the future looks bright

An issue with using spectrometry and blood samples is that some doctors and scientists may doubt the accuracy of such a test to detect cancer. However, it appears that the future is near. Newer technology involving spectroscopy, called Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy in Attenuated Total Reflection sampling mode, appears to be more robust than old spectroscopy methods in its ability to deliver optimal testing results. Scientists have taken notice of this new and improved technology and have been interested in its ability to reliably detect various diseases in samples of body fluid.
