If autistic individuals are going to be courted and hired as valuable employees, then companies need to remember that they’re people first. Companies need to make sure they’re providing the unique support these individuals need, especially in cases where an employee leaves his or her support system to relocate for the company. Whether that means providing life coaches, nutritionists, financial planners, or transportation to and from the office, companies need to be prepared to provide their autistic employees with all of the resources that they need to succeed in and out of the office.
