Still, adults with cystic fibrosis are at higher risk of developing mental health problems, particularly anxiety and depression. The pressure to keep up on intensive care programs and prescription regimens alone can be difficult for many adults to manage. This, in addition with having to occasionally forgo social experiences and otherwise desirable events for health reasons, can make a person feel isolated and victim of their own illness.
