Father and Daughter Diagnosed with Breast Cancer "Comfort Each Other"

Their journey has been recognized by many large organizations

In 2011, Arnaldo and Vanessa received the Eagle Fly Free Award from the Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine. They were recognized for their work as survivors who demonstrated great bravery and determination in the face of breast cancer. Two years later, Arnaldo was named the first Male Breast Cancer Survivor Ambassador at Komen North Jersey Race for the Cure. His and his daughter’s portraits were added to the Komen North Jersey Affiliate’s Journeys of Courage, a displayed collection of portraits of survivors who have helped to raise awareness on the disease that made a profound impact on their lives. Vanessa and Arnaldo are also founding members on the advisory board of the Male Breast Cancer Coalition.
