Four-time Survivor Scott Baker’s Lymphoma Miracle and How He Gives Back

Scott was told he was too strong to die

He spent twenty eight consecutive days in the hospital including Christmas Day, while also in total isolation, at memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in Brooklyn. About that time, Baker said, “I was very, very sick. I thought I was going to die”.  But Scott’s nurse told him he was too strong to die, and that’s exactly what he needed to hear because from there his illness got worse. “I was placed in a situation where I desperately needed people for everything. There were stretches of time where I could do nothing for myself…That’s a unique situation to be in. And it got my attention. The people that came through the door were going to be what made me happy. And it worked. It was unbelievable.”
