Whether you have UC or not, everyone needs to make sure that they are safe while engaging in physical exercise. This means listening to your body, and taking a few extra precautions.

Some people may be afraid of needing to use a bathroom quickly, or having gas. Staying close to a bathroom or working out in the comfort of your own home can help you alleviate these fears, and prevent unexpected embarrassing situations from arising, but you also do not need to isolate yourself in your house. If you use a gym, you can pick machines that are close to the restrooms. If you do exercise classes, set up near the door so you have the reassurance of a quick way out if needed.
