Keeping A Committed Relationship in the Face of Parkinson's

There are those who leave when Parkinson's comes into the picture, but there are some who stay

There are those who retreat when they hear a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease they think of living with someone who eventually loses all memory of past love and is just like a vegetable sitting in a chair. They choose to take the selfish way and find another life. Then, there are those who will enter into this phase of their life and relish their new role of caregiver. There is a saying that when you take care of someone who is ill, you become closer to them. You feel a particular type of love. You nurture and care for them, and your noble side comes out. You could also be like most caretakers and do what you must. You don’t like it, and you probably don’t accept it, but you deal with it.
