Differences in cases of lupus
Recent studies have shown that environmental differences and chromosomal basis differences for sex differences in cases of lupus.
A survey carried out suggested that there are more cases of lupus among black women and the rate could be three times that of white women. The study also suggested that the high levels were reported in women in 30 - 39 age groups.
Latina and African – American women without family history of systematic lupus erythematosus, have nearly one in 250 chances of being diagnosed with the disease.
