The study concluded the research to be substantiated and determined despite the major improvements from the 1950s-1990s, the survival rate has reached is plateau point since the mid-90s. Overall deaths due to SLE have decreased over time both in adult and pediatric patients in high-income countries; however, in low-income countries, SLE still remains as one of the leading causes of death in pediatric patients.
