Medication Puts Elderly Lymphoma Patients at Risk for Shortened Survival

Final thoughts

PIMs, potentially inappropriate medications, are drugs which can negatively affect the elderly and their chances of surviving aggressive non-Hodgkin lymphoma. They are correlated with a reduction in survival, but causation has not been established.

Still, it is better to be safe than to be sorry, and if you are fighting against non-Hodgkin lymphoma, it may be well worth your time to consult with a geriatrician and to educate your oncologist about PIMs.

A little extra knowledge may save your life.
